Contemplative Evangelizers

C.E.C.C. Meaning in Latin": Contemplativi Evangelizatores Cordis Christi. In English, Contemplative Evangelizers of the Heart of Christ. In Swahili, we are called: WATAFAKARI WAENEZA INJILI WA MOYO WA KRISTU. Our popular name is: Contemplative Evangelizers. In Swahili, "Watafakari waeneza Injili".
Our Congregation is by nature Contemplative, Evangelizing and Missionary. Through much, fervent, community and personal prayer, we contemplate, and we try to imitate the interior feelings and attitudes of prayer, sacrifice and zeal of the Heart of Christ. We share the methods and the fruits of our contemplation with as many people as possible. Learn More
We are religious, Missionaries; we teach our people how to help their priests and Religious to follow their vocation, with encouragement, prudent advice, practical aids. Learn More

Our method of writing is to be popular, easy, and practical. We prefer to write booklets, pamphlets, leaflets, and articles for newspapers, magazines. We want to use many cultural expressions, taken from the way of thinking, talking, acting of ordinary people; taken from books and articles written by our own people. Learn More
Our proper aim is to promote contemplative prayer in ourselves and in our people; by imitating the interior feelings and attitudes of the Heart of Christ; His meekness and humility; His self-denial and kindness; his mercy and generosity; so that, planted in love and build on love, we may grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth of the love of Christ (cf. Eph.13: 18). Learn More
In the sacred missions to people, we aim at the conversion and the renewal of heart; through the sacraments of reconciliation, the Eucharist, renewal of the Baptismal vows and of confirmation, matrimony promises, fraternal forgiveness and charity. We animate all the movements, the associations present in the parish and also visit the sick. Learn More

Our Charism

With the approval of the ordinary, we minister our churches as “shrines” (cf. Can, 1230). In these “shrines “we foster:

Devotion

The devotion to the Heart of Christ and the Blessed Mother.

Holiness

Suitable encouragement of liturgical life, of Reconciliation, of Divine Office.

Gospel

Sedulous [actively engaged] in the proclamation of the word of God, especially by the celebration of the Eucharist.

Others

Suitable encouragement of approved forms of popular devotions. (cf. Can 1234, 1) as the Rosary, the way of the cross, hours of adoration of the Bl. Sacrament with solemn benediction.

Assuming a Parish

As a rule because of our Charism of “Contemplation”, because of our nature, aim and spirit, we may assume a parish only where there is a big centre and the parish is not scattered, and it has very few outstations.

Join Our Congregation

Non-Catholics are Considered

We have to try to arrange appropriate retreats, missions, Para-liturgical ceremonies also for non-Catholics and non-Christians; we invite them first to pray to God with us; then, little by little, very kindly and prudently, we help them to get a knowledge of our religion, of our feasts, of our Biblical prayers; then we promote their cooperation with us in works of charity. (See art. 771, 2 of Canon law). Always with the permit of the ordinary, we may invite the leaders of non- Catholics and non – Christians religious to come to our churches with their people, and together with us, to offer to God some prayers, which are appropriate to their and our religion. (Con. art.188-191)
